Creating an animation inspired by a poem I wrote
The carousel never stops turning
The horses never slow down
Ain't all of this exciting?
A thousand ways to have fun
And rules?
Nowhere to be found!
I jump I twirl I tap my little feet
My excitement knows no bounds
And so does that seat!
What a well lit carousel,
And the horse with the most welcoming eyes
But dad is too tall for this
This sure must be a sign!
Dad ! let go this time.
Let me free
On my horse, I will travel the seven seas!
Look! My horse can fly
It gallops, it dances, it jumps too high
It dives into the depths
Depths of my life
How do I control this?
It’s far too late
I should have left
The moment I saw the carousel’s gate
Let go of this fear
Burst the bubble where you dwell
Deep inside me I hear a voice I know well
Let go of the mindless babble
Learn to listen for a while
Let go of false pretenses
Accept the unavoidable with a warm smile
In that moment, I feel boundless
fearless
As this piece of you stays revolving around me
Even when we are under the same roof or miles apart
And even though the time the horses and the carousel won’t wait
It is for you,
That i could dodge a bullet by myself
if facing this with courage is what it would take.
